Nawanshahr- District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, the institutions working in the field of welfare of the disabled and in other fields should ensure that they register themselves under the Rights of Person with Disability Act 2016. District Social Security Officer Rajkiran Kaur gave this information and said that the institutions of the district which are running special schools for the welfare of the disabled/children with special needs etc. should get themselves registered under the Rights of person with Disability 2016. . He said that running the organization without registration will be considered illegal. It is necessary for the schools belonging to the group of children with special needs studying in the special schools under the district to get themselves registered under the National Trust Act. UDID cards should also be made for the children studying in these schools.
The District Social Security Officer said that the benefits under DDRS and DDRC schemes should be ensured to the children with special needs studying in special schools. Apart from this, the institutions through which the Bridh Ashrams are being run in the district should be registered under The Punjab Management of Senior Citizen Home for Elderly Persons Scheme 2019. He appealed to the concerned that if there is any kind of problem in registering as above
