SAS Nagar, October 6 - Recently, a video of Mohali dentist Lakhwinder Singh's death by an auto driver in Sector 16 of Chandigarh went viral and after that, Mohali Police has taken action against the auto drivers who violated the rules. A big campaign has been started under which strict action has been taken against such auto drivers.

Under the leadership of Harsimran Singh Bal, the auto drivers were checked by blocking the road outside Gurudwara Amb Sahib and during this, the auto drivers whose vehicle papers were not complete or who did not have a license were challaned. On this occasion, about half a dozen such autos have also been seized.
DSP Sz. Harsimran Singh Ball said that on this occasion the auto drivers were reprimanded to wear uniforms and keep their name strips on. He said that the auto drivers have also been instructed that they will not stop the vehicle by braking suddenly while moving anywhere and will stop and pick up the passengers at the places where the passengers are standing.
Mr. Ball said that although the incident of Dr. Lakhwinder Singh being hit by an auto driver has happened in Chandigarh, but so that no such incident happens in Mohali, the police is being strict with the auto drivers. Auto drivers have been reprimanded not to drive under the influence of drugs under any circumstances and to keep their vehicle operational and licensed. He said that this operation will continue continuously and strict action will be taken against the auto drivers who violate the rules.
