Chandigarh: A press note issued by the Sector-41 office of the World Punjabi Prachar Sabha, Chandigarh has informed that on the occasion of the ten-day International Children's Writers Conference being held at the Akal College of Physical Education, Sri Mastuana Sahib; Principal Bahadur Singh Gosal, President of the World Punjabi Prachar Sabha, Chandigarh, was specially honored by the founder of Punjab Bhawan-Sri Canada, Mr. Sakhi Bath.

On the occasion of the honor
Principal Gosal was honored with a memento and cash. This international conference was organized to encourage the children of Punjab so that the art of writing can be instilled in them from an early age and love and respect for the mother tongue Punjabi can be instilled.

Activities at the event
Several competitions such as children's poetry recitation, essay writing, story writing, and Bhangra etc. were organized during the ten-day conference. Principal Bahadur Singh Gosal, who is a famous Punjabi writer and children's writer, was invited as a judge. He held the special responsibility of judging along with Dr. Darshan Singh Asht and Baljinder Mann.

Recognition of the honor
Principal Gosal was honored by the organizers of Punjab Bhawan-Surrey Canada for playing the role of judge in children's competitions and being an advanced writer. On this occasion, Senior Vice President of Vishwa Punjabi Prachar Sabha Chandigarh Jagtar Singh Jog, Chief Advisor Baljinder Kaur Shergill, and other prominent personalities were present.

Participation of the main organizers
The organizers included Mr. Sakhi Bath, Mr. Okar Singh Teji, Harjinder Singh Sandhu, Manpreet Kaur Mumbai, Mandeep Kaur, Baljinder Mann and other office bearers of the college.

Principal Gosal thanked Mr. Sakhi Bath and other organizers for this special honor. On this occasion, Mr. Jagtar Singh Jog and Baljinder Kaur Shergill said that it is a matter of pride for Vishwa Punjabi Prachar Sabha to honor Principal Gosal by an international organization.

Participation of children
Thousands of children from different districts of Punjab and Ganganagar in Rajasthan came to participate in this ten-day conference under the supervision of their teachers. Excellent arrangements were made for their accommodation and food. The children were divided into different categories based on age and skill. Cash prizes were kept for the first, second and third place in each category, due to which the children arrived with full preparation and enthusiasm.
