Una, July 25- Una district administration took strict action against illegal and unscientific mining and carried out a major raid on Thursday midnight. This special raid was led by Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal himself. Under his leadership, the team of the mining department conducted a surprise inspection in the Swan river in Fatehpur area at 12 midnight and tightened the noose on illegal mining.
During this, three tippers and a Pokelin machine involved in illegal mining were seized, which were taken into custody with the help of police on the spot and kept in Police Line Jhalra through Mehtpur police station.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the district administration is working on a 'zero tolerance' policy towards illegal and unscientific mining. He said that preventing indiscriminate exploitation of natural resources is among the top priorities of the administration and such surprise actions will continue in future to maintain environmental balance.
The Deputy Commissioner said that those who damage the valuable natural resources of the district will not be spared under any circumstances. The district administration is vigilant, alert and fully committed.
During this action, District Mining Officer Neeraj Kant and other officials of the mining department were also with him.
