Mohali, July 25- Despite clear orders passed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the orders of the High Court are being violated by not refunding the PLC fee collected by GMADA from the landowners of Sohana, Lakhnaur, Manak Majra and Bhagomajra villages who acquired land in Sector 88-89 of Mohali.
Along with this, Preferential Location Charge (PLC) fee is being collected again in the next plots also. Troubled by this, the landowners have prepared to file a contempt petition in the High Court against the GMADA officials.
Giving information in this regard, Sector 88 residents Hardeep Singh Uppal, Daulat Ram Bhatti, Colonel M.S. Dhaliwal, Amar Singh Bilang, Jasvir Chand, Jagdish Chand resident Mankamajra etc. told that despite it not being mentioned in the land pooling policy, GMADA kept the allottees entangled in collecting PLC charges and forced the allottees to go to court.
The Hon'ble High Court, while disposing of writ petition number 9717/2019 "Daulat Ram Bhatti and others vs State of Punjab", had banned PLC on 20 February 2025 and while hearing a total of 118 writ petitions related to this matter, ordered to pay PLC to the allottees of Sector 88-89. The High Court has ordered GMADA to return the money collected by PLC from the allottees along with 6 percent simple interest. He said that the GMADA officials are not even paying heed to the orders of the Hon'ble High Court in the PLC case, due to which now the land owners have decided to file a case of contempt of court (disobeying court orders) against the GMADA officials including the Punjab Government.
He also demanded from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that the higher officials of GMADA should be forced to immediately implement the orders of the Hon'ble High Court in the PLC case.
