Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar June 16, 2025: Under the guidance of Smt. Komal Mittal, Deputy Commissioner (President, District Red Cross), District Red Cross Society, in collaboration with NGOs, organized voluntary blood donation camps on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day at Hotel Lord's Inn Zirakpur, Phase-5 Market and Metro City, Zirakpur. During the camps, 95 units of blood were collected by teams of doctors.
Mr. Harbans Singh, Secretary Red Cross, encouraged the blood donors to donate as much blood as possible during the camp and told that there is a misconception among the people that donating blood causes weakness in the body. 
He said that donating blood does not cause any weakness, but everyone should donate blood once in 90 days. 
This helps the needy as well as keeps the body healthy. A noble act like donating blood is of great service. It needs to be made a public movement because blood cannot be prepared from any medicine etc. but it can be taken from the person himself as per his wish.
During the camp, the blood donors were given badges and were honored with certificates.
Finally, Secretary Mr. Harbans Singh appealed to the general public that we should organize as many blood donation camps as possible and if any organization or NGO needs any support to organize the camp, then it can contact the Red Cross branch. Red Cross branch organization/NGO Will always be ready to help.
