
De-addiction campaign in the villages of the district with the cooperation of the people.
Hoshiarpur- Under the campaign being run by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann with the aim of making the state drug-free, de-addiction marches were organized in the villages of Gandowal, Langeri, Haveli and Dohlro of Garhshankar Assembly constituency under the leadership of Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly Jai Krishna Singh Raudi.

There was a huge participation of local residents in these programs and everyone resolved to fight together against drug abuse. In this series, public awareness rallies were taken out under the leadership of Lok Sabha member Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar.
Youth and women showed special interest in these programs and resolved to stay away from drugs. Along with this, anti-drug programs were organized in Dhirowal, Dallewal, Tharoli, Nangal Shaheedan, Sherpur Batian and Bassi Daud Khan villages under the leadership of Hoshiarpur Assembly constituency MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa.
Through these programs, common people were made aware about the ill effects of drugs and an appeal was made to make the society drug free. At all these places, the public representatives took an oath from the villagers that they will neither allow drugs to enter their villages, nor will they support drug smugglers, nor will they even give them bail.
While addressing the people during the Nasha Mukti Yatra, the public representatives said that drugs are hollowing out the society from within and our young generation is getting affected the most by it. They appealed to the villagers to support the government in this anti-drug campaign and pledge to make their villages drug free.
The public representatives clarified that strict action will be taken against drug smugglers and such people will neither have any place in the society nor will their bail be supported. He said that it is the responsibility of not only the government but the entire society to unite and eradicate this evil from its roots.
