District Magistrate sets time for bursting firecrackers and fireworks on the occasion of festivals

Hoshiarpur- District Magistrate Ashika Jain, exercising the powers vested in her under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023, has issued orders regarding bursting of firecrackers within the district limits in view of the festivals in the coming days as per the instructions of the government. In the orders issued, she has fixed the day and time for bursting firecrackers and fireworks in the district and has directed that there will be a complete ban on bursting firecrackers and fireworks after or before this specified time.

The orders issued by the District Magistrate have said that firecrackers can be burst from 8 am to 10 pm on Diwali on 20 October 2025, from 4 am to 5 am and from 9 pm to 10 pm on Gurpurab on 5 November and from 11:55 pm to 12:30 pm on Christmas on 25-26 December and New Year on 31 December (midnight) from 12:30 am. 
She said that apart from this, bursting of firecrackers will not be allowed within 100 meters of silence zones such as hospitals, educational institutions, courts and religious places etc. She directed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Area Magistrates, District Police to ensure compliance with the orders and instructions issued by the government from time to time.
