
Over 100 mountaineers, including 10 Indians, honoured
Kathmandu: Ten Indian mountaineers were among the more than 100 mountaineers honoured in Nepal today to commemorate the first successful ascent of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the Himalayas, by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Pandey honoured ten Indian mountaineers at the ‘Everest Mountaineering Conference’ organised by ‘Everest Alliance Nepal’, including Ashish Singh, Nisha Kumari, Anuja Vaidya, Baljit Kaur, Suvidha Kadlag, Surya Prakash, Sheikh Himanshu, Satyarup Siddhant, Jyoti Ratre and Aditi.
Pandey said, “The Nepal government is not only committed to promoting mountain tourism but is also concerned about the conservation of the Himalayas.”
