During the function organized under the leadership of DAV College Managing Committee President Dr. Anup Kumar and Secretary Prof. R.M. Bhalla, Society President Dr. KK Sharma distributed books, copies and stationery to the students.
On this occasion, DAV College Managing Committee member Principal Gautam Mehta, Society Secretary Dr. Arvind Parashar and Cashier Rajwinder Kaur were also present.
On this occasion, Dr. Anoop said that education is the best tool to bring about change in life and make it better.
Dr. KK Sharma said that his organization has been providing education support to economically backward but promising students since 1989. With the inspiration of Dr. Anoop Kumar, for the last 5 years, support has been being provided for education to the needy students of DAV Senior Secondary School, Hoshiarpur.
On this occasion, the society provided 1500 copies, writing materials and books to the students of the school. Along with this, a cheque of Rs. 10000 was handed over to the Principal of the school, Rajesh Kumar, for other education related expenses.
The society also gave a cash prize of Rs. 1100 to the two top performing children among the students who received curricular support.
Society Secretary Prof. Dr. Arvind Parashar, while talking about the importance of education, motivated the students to do something good in their lives.
School Principal Rajesh Kumar thanked the society and said that the contribution being made by Suman Memorial Society in the education of needy but promising students is commendable. He thanked Dr. K. K. Sharma and his organization and hoped that they would continue their cooperation in the future as well.
