
Capacity of District De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre will be increased - Deputy Commissioner.
Hoshiarpur- Under the campaign of Punjab Government against drug abuse, the district administration will increase the capacity of District De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre with the aim of motivating the people trapped in drug addiction to lead a healthy life. Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, while reviewing the blueprint prepared for increasing the capacity of District De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre, said that every suitable facility will be made available in this centre and the number of beds at present 60 will be increased to 100.

She said that along with de-addiction, these people will be encouraged to lead a healthy life through skill development and vocational courses. She directed the officers of the concerned departments to finalize the proposal for increasing the capacity of the centre as soon as possible so that necessary improvements can be made in the centre as well as the establishment of other facilities can be ensured.
To further strengthen the infrastructure for District De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre in future, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain directed the purchase committee to ensure the purchase and installation of necessary equipment in a timely manner. He said that while increasing the capacity of the centre, priority should be given to quality in every aspect which can prove beneficial for patients and staff.
He said that the administrative block, doctor and nursing station and places for professional courses in the centre should be equipped with modern facilities and adequate arrangements should be made from security point of view. SP Major Singh, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Savita, Medical Officer Dr. Mahima Manhas and officials of various departments were present during the meeting.
