New Delhi, February 27- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday compared the grand gathering of Mahakumbh to the newly awakened consciousness of a nation that has broken the chains of slavery mentality and breathed freely. He said, “Mahakumbh has ended. The ‘Mahayagan’ of unity has ended.”
More devotees than expected took a holy dip in the Sangam, Modi said. He said India is now moving forward with new energy and this points to a change of era that will write a new future for India. He mentioned that it was not easy to make such a grand arrangement. The Uttar Pradesh government has said that more than 65 crore people have visited the holy place in Prayagraj since the Mahakumbh began on January 13.
Prime Minister Modi praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said that as an MP from Uttar Pradesh, he can proudly say that under Adityanath's leadership, the government, administration and people together made this "Mahakumbh" a success.
He praised the residents of Prayagraj and said that everyone, be it sanitation workers, police personnel, boatmen, drivers and cooks, worked tirelessly with devotion and a spirit of service and made it a success.
