Garhshankar, 26 February: On the call of the Joint Teachers' Front, the effigy of the Education Minister of Punjab will be burnt in Garhshankar today on 27 February. In a statement issued to the press, Government Teachers Union (GTU) Block Garhshankar-1 President Pawan Kumar Goyal and Block Garhshankar-2 President Ashwani Rana said that due to the government's evasive policy and silence on various occasions on the pending demands of teachers such as regularization of temporary teachers, merging computer teachers in the education department, arrears of pay commission, restoration of old pension, re-appointment of promoted teachers instead of remote stations and many other issues related to the education department, the effigy of the Education Minister of Punjab will be burnt after holding a protest rally at Gandhi Park Garhshankar at 3:30 pm on 27 February.
