Wheat supply of two ration depots suspended after irregularities found in distribution

Patiala, February 26- Acting promptly on a complaint received over phone from ration depot holders in Mahindra Colony regarding irregularities, the office of District Food and Supply Controller (DFSC) Patiala conducted a surprise inspection. DFSC Dr. Rooppreet Kaur, AFSC Patiala Manish Garg and Inspector Amarinder Singh along with Sumit Sharma and Inderjot Singh raided the ration depots of Manu Sharma and Lalit Kumar.

Patiala, February 26- Acting promptly on a complaint received over phone from ration depot holders in Mahindra Colony regarding irregularities, the office of District Food and Supply Controller (DFSC) Patiala conducted a surprise inspection. DFSC Dr. Rooppreet Kaur, AFSC Patiala Manish Garg and Inspector Amarinder Singh along with Sumit Sharma and Inderjot Singh raided the ration depots of Manu Sharma and Lalit Kumar.
During the inspection, it was found that both the depot holders had issued slips to the beneficiaries but had not yet distributed the wheat, which is a violation of established rules. Taking immediate action, the DFSC suspended the supply of both the depots. She said that to ensure smooth distribution, department staff has been deployed to distribute wheat directly to the beneficiaries.
DFSC Dr. Rooppreet Kaur said that any kind of irregularity in ration distribution will not be tolerated. He stressed that surprise inspections will continue during the distribution process to ensure fair and transparent distribution.
