
Making people aware about the ill effects of drug abuse through help desk is a great effort - Dr. Pawan Kumar Sagotra
21 February Hoshiarpur- As per the guidelines of Health Department Punjab and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar Sagotra and under the able guidance of Senior Medical Officer Incharge Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur Dr. Swati Shinhmar, in the presence of psychiatrist Dr. Raj Kumar, under the Drug Free Mission Punjab Smile 2.0, people were made aware through help desk at Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur with the aim of making people aware about the ill effects of drug abuse and providing information to get rid of drug addiction.
21 February Hoshiarpur- As per the guidelines of Health Department Punjab and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar Sagotra and under the able guidance of Senior Medical Officer Incharge Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur Dr. Swati Shinhmar, in the presence of psychiatrist Dr. Raj Kumar, under the Drug Free Mission Punjab Smile 2.0, people were made aware through help desk at Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur with the aim of making people aware about the ill effects of drug abuse and providing information to get rid of drug addiction.
While inaugurating the help desk, Dr. Pawan Kumar said that making people aware about the ill effects of drug abuse through help desk is a great effort. Inviting the people present, he said that they should unite against the evil of drug addiction and work to eradicate it from its roots.
He said that the drug de-addiction and rehabilitation center is running successfully in the district, where drug addicts are treated and motivated to lead a healthy life. He said that these help desks will be set up at various public places in the district, where experts will make people aware and provide necessary information.
Dr. Swati said that this campaign will continue till February 28, during which people will be made aware and those who are trapped in the trap of drugs will be given information about de-addiction and treatment. In this regard, today more than 88 people were informed about the damage caused to health and society by drugs through this help desk set up by the District De-addiction Rehabilitation Society.
Dr. Raj Kumar said that in the District De-addiction Rehabilitation Center started in the year 2015, proper arrangements are being made to get rid of addiction as well as to provide training in vocational courses, so that the affected people can leave addiction and run their own business.
With the efforts of the Honorable Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur, an initiative will be started to make the youth stand on their own feet by getting them to do certificate vocational courses in this center.
