Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 6, 2025: District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Police have busted a gang while taking action in a land fraud case, under which 5 accused have been arrested, Rs. 32.50 lakh and 5 vehicles have been recovered from them.
In this regard, SP (Rural) SAS Nagar, Manpreet Singh informed the press that an application was filed by Amarjit Singh son of Balwinder Singh, resident of village Gharua, Tehsil Kharar, district SAS Nagar against Jagdish Kumar son of Mewa Ram, resident of village Kalheri, police station City Morinda, district Rupnagar (fake name Jeet Singh son of Hakam Singh, resident of village Jhungian, Kharar) and Avtar Singh son of Sarwan Singh, resident of village Dayalpur, police station Zirakpur Hall, resident of Kharar (fake name Bahadur Singh son of Angrej Singh, resident of village Luhar Majra Kalan, district Fatehgarh Sahib) and fake name Gurmeet Singh son of Mukhtiar Singh, resident of village Sante Majra, Kharar, in which the other party showed him a land in village Luhar Majra Kalan, district Fatehgarh Sahib and the said The person claimed to be the owner of the land and collected money from him and a fake statement was made. During the investigation, it came to light that the applicant suspected that the statement made was fake, about which he informed the police.
In this regard, case No. 235 dated 28.07.2025 under Sections: 319(2), 318(4) 316(2), 336(2), 61(2) BNS. Police Station Sadar Kharar was registered and the investigation was started. The accused Jagdish Kumar and Avtar Singh were arrested as per the code of conduct and during their interrogation, Kulwinder Singh alias Kali son of Balvir Singh resident of village Badwala, Police Station Bassi Pathana, District Fatehgarh Sahib, Mani Morinda, Gurbhej Singh and Mange were named as accused. A car number PB 01 CW 1383 brand Honda Amaze was recovered from the accused. The accused in the case, Bhupesh Mehta alias Mani, along with the car number PB 87 6357 brand Breeze, and the accused Jagdish Kumar were arrested, from whom the car brand Skoda CH 01 CW 1383 was recovered and Rs. 32,50,000/- has been recovered from them so far. The accused Gurbaz Singh alias Gurbhej Singh, along with the car number PB 12 AJ 9121 brand Bar Rang Lal, was arrested. The remaining accused will be arrested soon, the investigation of the case is ongoing.

4) Bhupesh Mehta son of Avinash Mehta, resident of house no. 186, ward no. 2, Morinda, district Ropar,
5) Gurbaj Singh alias Gurbhej Singh, resident of village Paprali, police station Singh Bhagwantpur, district Ropar
6) Manga Singh son of Kesar Singh resident of village Luhar Majra Kalan, district Fatehgarh Sahib
7) Kulwinder Singh alias Kali son of Balvir Singh, resident of village Luhar Majra Kalan, district Fatehgarh Sahib (arrest pending)

He warned the general public against such people and appealed that before buying or selling any land, the land transaction should be done only after thoroughly investigating the real owners of the seller and buyer, so that they do not become victims of fraud by such bad elements.
