
Patiala Heritage Festival from today, Saras Mela to be celebrated from tomorrow
Patiala, February 12- Patiala city is all set to host the Patiala Heritage Festival starting from February 13 and Saras Mela to be held at Sheesh Mahal from February 14. Today, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav took stock of the preparations for the Patiala Heritage events to be held at various places in the city.

On this occasion, she was accompanied by PDA Chief Administrator Manisha Rana, SP Sarfaraz Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Anupreeta Johal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Isha Singal, SDM Nabha Ismat Vijay Singh, Joint Commissioner Deepjot Kaur, SDM Samana Tarsem Chand and Assistant Commissioner Richa Goyal.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav while extending an open invitation to the residents of Patiala said that Patiala Heritage Festival will start on 13th February with a nature walk from Paryavaran Park Patiala at 7 am and on the same day at 9 am there will be Heritage Food and Flower Festival at Barandari Bagh and at 6 pm the historical drama 'Sirhind Di Deewar' by famous actress 'Padma Shri' Nirmal Rishi will be staged at Harpal Tiwana Kala Kendra Nabha Road.
On 14th February at 8:30 am there will be a heritage walk from Shahi Samadhan to Qila Mubarak and at 1 pm Saras Mela will be inaugurated at Sheesh Mahal. On the same day at 6 pm Lakhwinder Wadali will enthrall the audience with his Sufi singing at Polo Ground. Dr. Preeti Yadav informed that on 15th February at 11 am an Aero Show is being organized at Patiala Aviation Complex Civil Aerodrome on Sangrur Road. On the same day at 6 pm, a fashion show of traditional Punjabi attire 'Rang Punjab De' will be presented by Satinder Satti and fashion designers Ellie and Kim at Kila Mubarak. On 16 February at 9 am, a dog show will be organized by Patiala Kennel Club at Polo Ground under the 62nd and 63rd All Breed Championship and at the same time at 9 am, Patiala Military Literature Festival will be organized at Khalsa College.
On the same day at 6 pm, a spiritual evening with world famous sitar player Nawaz Niladhari Kumar and a performance by famous tabla player Satyajit Talwalkar will be held at Kila Mubarak. Dr. Preeti Yadav said that entry to the programs organized at various places in the city during Patiala Heritage Festival is free.
While the ticket for Saras Mela to be held at Sheesh Mahal has been kept at Rs 20. In this Saras Mela, the North Zone Cultural Center has arranged for the performance of more than 300 artists from 16 states. Satwinder Bugga will give cultural performances at the Saras Mela on February 15, Glory Bawa on February 16, Gurjeet Jeeti on February 17, Sardar Ali on February 18, Mohammad Irshad on February 19, Samar Veer on February 20 and Ranjeet Bawa on February 21.
