During the flag off ceremony, GS Toor, JS Gidda, Narinderpal Toor, Dilbagh Singh, Harinderpal Singh, PO SK Puri, Principal RS Gill, Subhash Chandra City Traffic Incharge, Dilawar Singh ASI, Ravinder Kaur PP, Praveen Kumar Traffic Police, Manager Manmeet Singh, Gobind Adhikari and Vikram Kumar were present. Earlier, DSP Raj Kumar inspected the rally route.
On this occasion, social worker speakers said that more than 1.5 lakh deaths occur every year in the country due to road accidents. According to the data of the year 2022, about 6122 road accidents occurred in Punjab, in which 4688 people died and 3372 people were injured. Increasing road safety awareness will reduce accidents and loss of life and property. Road accidents can be reduced only with the joint efforts of social welfare organizations and administration. After this, an awareness cycle rally started from the local BDC, which reached the Road Training Park on Slough Road via Nehru Gate, Slough Chowk, Chandigarh Chowk, Dr. Ambedkar Chowk.
The volunteers were welcomed at the Road Training Park by G.S. Toor, Subhash Chandra Incharge City Traffic, Praveen Kumar Traffic Police, J.S. Gidda, Narinderpal Toor, Surinder Kaur Toor, Dilbag Singh Retired DEO, Harinderpal Singh, Dilawar Singh ASI, Ravinder Kaur Punjab Police, Gobind Adhikari MTS from Nehru Yuva Kendra and volunteer Vikram Kumar.
On this occasion, those who gave awareness messages and raised slogans included G.S. Toor, J.S. On this occasion, Gidda, Subhash Chandra, Dilbag Singh, Surinder Kaur Toor and Narinderpal Singh also asked questions from the students about road safety, and the students who answered correctly were honoured.
