Mahilpur, January 18- Ten players of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur will represent Punjab University Chandigarh football team in the All India Inter University Football Championship to be held in Kanpur from January 29.
Giving information about this, the Principal of the college Dr. Parwinder Singh, football team coach Harinder Singh, Charanjit Singh and Prof. Manpreet Sethi said that ten players of Khalsa College Mahilpur are playing in the Punjab University Chandigarh team and this team has recently achieved the distinction of becoming champion in the North Jan Inter University Tournament held at GNA University Phagwara.
It was told that the said team won the inter-university championship title by defeating the football teams of Punjabi University Patiala, GNA University Phagwara and Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar in the league matches.
It is notable that the college student players playing in this team include Gabind Thapa, Ramandeep Singh, Harmandeep Singh, Harmanjit Singh, Rahil, Pras, Parminder Singh, Gursharan Singh, Simranjit Singh and Lovepreet Singh. In this regard, Sikh Educational Council President Sant Sadhu Singh Kaharpur, Patron Dr. Jang Bahadur Singh Rai, Manager Inderjit Singh Bharta and General Secretary Prof. Apinder Singh along with all the officials also congratulated the said players and motivated them for their hard work.
