
Punjabi University's research on the transformation of folk tales reveals important facts
Patiala, December 23 - A recent study conducted at Punjabi University to understand the various aspects and reasons for the transformation of folk tales of Punjab from a cultural perspective has revealed important conclusions. Through this study conducted by researcher Gurjant Singh under the Punjabi Department of the university under the supervision of Prof. Jagtar Singh Joga, various perspectives on the transformation of traditional folk professions of Punjab have been read and studied.
Patiala, December 23 - A recent study conducted at Punjabi University to understand the various aspects and reasons for the transformation of folk tales of Punjab from a cultural perspective has revealed important conclusions. Through this study conducted by researcher Gurjant Singh under the Punjabi Department of the university under the supervision of Prof. Jagtar Singh Joga, various perspectives on the transformation of traditional folk professions of Punjab have been read and studied.
Researcher Gurjant Singh has said that under this research work, agriculture, carpentry, blacksmith, wheelwright, goldsmith, cobbler, thatthiara and julah professions were included among the folk professions of Punjab. He said that these folk professions are presented in different forms in Punjabi folk literature, on the basis of which various aspects of the transformation of culture were identified.
He said that due to the change in technology, the mutual self-reliance of different professions on each other has also been reduced, which has led to the erosion of cultural harmony. He said that another important aspect came to light that the folk professions of Punjab adopted those technological techniques that had a positive and positive approach towards the environment and sustainable development. Dr. Jagtar Singh said that the basic objective of the development of technology at the global level is to explore and find such techniques that provide more comfortable facilities with the least use of human energy.
In this context, in the context of constantly changing conditions, there has also been a cultural change in the folk professions of Punjab. He said that the transformation of the folk tales of Punjab has changed the content and working methods of culture. Through the transformation of the folk tales of Punjab, there has been a change in the lifestyle, dress, food and drink, lifestyle, usage, entertainment and folklore content of the people.
He said that the study also revealed that with the development of technology, human beauty also developed. Due to which ordinary craftsmen gradually transformed into artistic craftsmen. Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Narinder Kaur Multani praised this research work and specially congratulated him.
