Warring accuses Dimpy Dhillon of de-registering 12,000 PMAY-G beneficiaries
Muktsar, March 6 – Punjab Congress Committee (PCC) President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Wednesday claimed that the previous Congress government had selected more than 12,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) in Gidderbaha assembly constituency.
Muktsar, March 6 – Punjab Congress Committee (PCC) President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Wednesday claimed that the previous Congress government had selected more than 12,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) in Gidderbaha assembly constituency.
He alleged that the current Aam Aadmi Party government has cancelled the registration of all these beneficiaries and started a new survey at the behest of Gidderbaha MLA Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon. Warring further said that he will file a petition in the High Court regarding the matter. He has also uploaded a video message on Facebook regarding the issue.
Speaking to the Tribune Group, he said, “Giddarbaha had the highest number of beneficiaries under PMAY-G, but the Rural Development Department has removed the names of all the beneficiaries on the behest of the local AAP MLA and has started a fresh survey. I am collecting some documents and will file a petition against this move in the High Court.” However, Dhillon refuted these claims and said, “Raja Warring, a three-time MLA from Giddarbaha, is only misleading the public, it may be his political stunt, but the reality is that not a single registered beneficiary will be deprived of the benefits of the PMAY-G scheme. A fresh survey is also underway and those who meet the criteria can apply. He said that I am even ready to go barefoot to Warring’s house if he can help any beneficiary to avail the benefits of this scheme.
Meanwhile, Block Development and Panchayat Officer Gidderbaha Manjot Singh clarified that anyone fulfilling the criteria can register as a beneficiary of PMAY-G on its official website. He stressed that the entire process is transparent and no prior approval is required from the local staff. He further said that the officers have been deployed to assist the public.
He further informed that under this scheme, a beneficiary will be given financial assistance of up to Rs 1.5 lakh in installments for constructing a one-room house including labour cost. Once registered, the name of a beneficiary cannot be removed from the list.
