
An awareness rally was taken out against drug abuse in Baba Wazir Singh School.
Nawanshahr- Baba Wazir Singh Khalsa Senior Secondary (Girls) School, Nawanshahr, in collaboration with Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Victims, Nawanshahr, took out an anti-drug awareness rally with NSS volunteers. On this occasion, the chief guest, Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Director), Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Victims, Nawanshahr, while making the NSS volunteers and students present in the school aware about the ill effects of drug abuse, said that drug abuse makes a person physically and mentally ill.

In today's time, many youth and school students of Punjab have also fallen prey to drug abuse. He said that school students need to be more aware about this, because often students start consuming drugs knowingly or unknowingly, gradually become addicted to drugs and then it becomes difficult for them to quit drugs. Therefore, one should never take drugs on someone's advice. One can stay away from drug abuse only by being aware of its effects.
On this occasion, Mr. Parveen Kumar (ASI Punjab Police Nawanshahr) also expressed his views and motivated the students to stay away from drug abuse and school principal Mr. Jasvir Singh also expressed his views. On this occasion, students of the school, staff members of Red Cross Centre, students of Doaba Arya School and students of Government High School Saloh took out an awareness rally against drug abuse from Baba Wazir Singh Khalsa School Nawanshahr to village Saloh.
Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Director) made the villagers aware about drug abuse. First of all, he threw light on the Drug Free India campaign launched by the Government of India. He said that to end drug abuse, we should be a part of this campaign and start it from our homes. To save our children from drug abuse, first of all we need to be aware ourselves.
Let us take care of our children and reach the school. On this occasion Principal Jasvir Singh, staff members Dinesh Kumar, Kamaljit Kaur, Pravesh Kumar, Deepak, PCR Punjab Police Nawanshahr and villagers were present.
