Election Observer Apneet Riyat reviewed the scrutiny process of nomination papers for the Municipal Corporation by-elections.

Hoshiarpur, December 14 - Apneet Rayat, an observer IAS officer and Special Secretary Housing and Urban Development appointed by the Punjab State Election Commission for the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections in the district, reached Hoshiarpur today. During this, he reviewed the preparations for the elections to be held on December 21.

Hoshiarpur, December 14 - Apneet Rayat, an observer IAS officer and Special Secretary Housing and Urban Development appointed by the Punjab State Election Commission for the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections in the district, reached Hoshiarpur today. During this, he reviewed the preparations for the elections to be held on December 21.
Apneet Rayat held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and reviewed all the arrangements made to conduct the election process in a fair, transparent and smooth manner. After this, he reached the Tehsil Complex and inspected the process of scrutiny of nomination papers.
Mrs. Rayat expressed satisfaction with the process of scrutiny of nomination papers. She instructed the officials to conduct this process with complete transparency and fairness. He said that there should be no error in the scrutiny of nomination papers and each candidate's nomination paper should be scrutinized so that no dispute arises in the future.
He stressed on strict adherence to the guidelines of the Election Commission and said that necessary steps should be taken to conduct the election process in a peaceful and fair manner.
Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal told the election observer that the model code of conduct is being strictly followed. He said that all the arrangements related to the election have been completed. He assured that the election process will be conducted in a fair, transparent and peaceful manner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Nicas Kumar, SDM Hoshiarpur Sanjeev Sharma, Returning Officer Kulwant Singh Sidhu were also present on the occasion.
