Mahilpur- Jagtar Singh Bhatti, an alumnus of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur and a renowned footballer of his time, passed away in California, USA yesterday. A condolence meeting was organized in his memory by Principal Harbhajan Singh Sporting Club Mahilpur.

In which the club president Kulwant Singh Sangha paid tribute from England and said that Jagtar Singh Bursha made the name of Khalsa College Mahilpur and the area famous due to his excellent sportsmanship. He was popular among the people as Bursha due to his strong determination.
Among his contemporaries, the names of Arjun Awardee Gurdev Singh Gill and retired SSP Kulshinder Singh Sahota are noteworthy. Born on February 7, 1949 in Pakhowal Bihar village near Saila, this footballer said goodbye to this world on May 2, 2025. On this occasion, a two-minute silence was also observed by the club members in his memory.
