Hoshiarpur - Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and SSP Surendra Lamba today visited the local Hoshiarpur and Jayan Mandia of Chabewal and took stock of the lifting of paddy and instructed the purchasing agencies to speed up the lifting. The Deputy Commissioner and SSP said on this occasion that after detailed discussion about paddy with almost all sheller owners of Hoshiarpur cluster, smooth lifting of paddy has started in the markets and the farmers will not face any kind of problem in the markets.  
He appealed to the farmers and said that priority should be given to bring paddy with specified moisture in the markets so that they do not face any kind of trouble. He said that all possible efforts are being made by the administration to make the procurement process transparent and farmer friendly.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the lifting of paddy in the district will be done quickly and smoothly and complete arrangements have been made in all the markets of the district for the convenience of the farmers. He said that arrangements for drinking water, cleanliness, shade, tarpaulins and tarps have already been made in the markets.
He said that till October 22, a total of 129692 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the markets of the district, out of which 124432 metric tons have been purchased. He emphasized that every grain of the crop brought by the farmers will be bought in the markets and payment will also be ensured within the stipulated time. Komal Mittal instructed the officials that there should be no delay in the lifting and payment process. He said that the farmers should get the payment on time and no slack should be used in this work.
