Hoshiarpur - Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal directed the Health Department, Municipal Corporation and Municipal Councils to jointly conduct an awareness campaign for prevention of dengue and issue a challan on finding dengue larvae. She said that efforts should be made from now to avoid and prevent the spread of dengue, malaria and chikungunya.

During the meeting of District Level Dengue Inter-Sectoral Coordination Committee, She also released a poster regarding dengue awareness. The Deputy Commissioner said that precautions are the only way to prevent dengue, malaria and chikungunya. She said that the prevention of dengue, malaria etc. mosquitoes is not only with the efforts of the administration but every district resident also has to keep his house and Allah-duala clean by considering it as his responsibility.
Keeping this objective in mind, the coolers and water tanks etc. in all government offices and other places should be cleaned. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the health department to establish separate dengue wards in the government hospital for patients suffering from dengue, malaria etc. She issued instructions to the officials of the municipal corporation and municipal councils and asked them to continue spraying mosquito killers in their areas so as to prevent the spread of dengue, malaria etc.
Komal Mittal directed the School Education Department to conduct dengue awareness seminars in schools and spread maximum awareness about it in the morning meeting. She said that the school principals should instruct the students not to wear clothes that leave your arms and legs exposed. She appealed to the residents of the district not to allow standing water in their houses, shops and offices as a 'dry day' (attack on dengue every Friday) activity. She said that this water can be in coolers, flower pots, back tray of refrigerator and old tires or any other place in and around the house which we should vacate on Friday.
She instructed to work more actively in coordination with Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur, Municipal Councils, Rural Development and all other related departments. On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Harbans Kaur, SMO Dr. Civil Hospital Dr. Swati Shimar, District Vaccination Officer. Seema Garg Group SMOs, Municipal Council's EO And officers from other departments were also present.
