
Concrete steps will be taken soon after meeting the Chief Minister to provide a permanent place for Mohali Press Club: Gurmeet Singh Khudian
SAS Nagar, October 9:- Punjab Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Food Processing Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian today attended the 26th anniversary and executive coronation ceremony of Mohali Press Club and announced that he will soon find a concrete solution to provide a permanent place to the Press Club after talking to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
SAS Nagar, October 9:- Punjab Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Food Processing Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian today attended the 26th anniversary and executive coronation ceremony of Mohali Press Club and announced that he will soon find a concrete solution to provide a permanent place to the Press Club after talking to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Addressing a function at the Prachin Kala Kendra in Sector 71 here today, he said that media is an important part of the society. Whatever happens in the society, media brings it before the public. Therefore, the responsibility of media is very big. The Cabinet Minister said that the real media is the one which always talks about the public and avoids social and religious divisions.
Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that the role of media is important in the efforts being made by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make the state Rangla Punjab. He said that the media has to convey the public welfare works being done by the government to the people, so the responsibility of media becomes even more important and big. He said that with the support of MLA Kulwant Singh and Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Burst, concrete efforts will be made to build the Mohali Press Club and whatever funds are needed will be provided. He said that after Chandigarh, Mohali has now been recognized at the international level, for which efforts will be made to build a press club here.
MLA Kulwant Singh congratulated the new team and said that journalists are an important part of society and democracy. Encouraging the demand of the club, he suggested that suitable land can be obtained from GMADA through concrete and joint efforts at the government level.
Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Burst said that he also supports this demand of the media and under joint efforts, he will also support the club.
On this occasion, the newly elected governing body team of Mohali Press Club included Sukhdev Singh Patwari President, Gurmeet Singh Shahi General Secretary, Sushil Garcha Senior Vice President, Manjit Singh Chana Treasurer, Dharam Singh and Rajiv Taneja Vice Presidents, Neelam Thakur and Maya Ram Joint Secretaries and Vijay Kumar Organizing Secretary, who were congratulated on assuming the new responsibility. On this occasion, a souvenir was also released by Minister S. Khuddiyon.
SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Gurmel Singh, District Mandi Officer Gagandeep Singh were also present on this occasion.
