Chandigarh September 5, 2024- Today Teachers' Day was organized in the Sanskrit Department of Punjab University, Chandigarh. On this occasion, the students of the department expressed their views on the ancient traditions of Guru Shishya in our culture.
Departmental research student, Shalini and research students Sandeep and Anshul present from Dayanand Chair also expressed their views on the Guru Shishya tradition. On this occasion, the teacher of the department, Dr. Tomir ji said that we should always obey the orders of the teachers. Dr. Vikram ji said that Guru is Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Mahesh because he removes the darkness of ignorance from the students and lights the light of knowledge.
Dr. Sunita ji said that we should do every task given by our parents and teachers with devotion because this is the time in life when we get more proximity of our teachers and we should make good use of this time. The Head of the Department, Prof. V.K. Alankar Ji said that there is an ancient tradition of Guru-Shishya in our culture where the Guru used to teach his disciple selflessly and the disciple had respect for his Guru. Even today, we should teach our disciples selflessly and students should also have respect for their teachers. The entire program was conducted by Dr. Vijay Bhardwaj Ji.
