Nawanshahr - Today, Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist) New Democracy District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar held a political conference in village Chak Maidas on the occasion of 54th death anniversary of Baba Bujha Singh. The ceremony of hoisting the flag at the martyr's memorial was performed by the party's district leader Comrade Kulwinder Singh Waraich. Addressing the political conference organized later, Comrade Kulwinder Singh Waraich said that Baba Bujha Singh is the name of lifelong struggles. Who played a leadership role in Ghadar Party, Kirti Party, Lal Party, CPI, CPI (M) and Naxalbari movement. He made a significant contribution in overthrowing the British Empire from the country. PEPSU made an indelible step in the Muzara movement and raised the flag of Naxalism in Punjab. 80-year-old Baba Bujha Singh, who used to distribute Naxalbari loa from village to village, was forcibly arrested by Punjab Police from village Nagar during the Akali government of Prakash Singh Badal on the midnight of 27-28 July 1970 and martyred in a fake police encounter on the canal bridge of village Naimjara (Nawanshahr).

He said that the kind of society the martyrs had dreamed of building, that dream has not been fulfilled. He said that the gap between the rich and the poor in the country is increasing day by day. The Modi government at the center is launching fascist attacks on minorities, Dalits, tribals, women, intellectuals, writers and activists. It is misusing its power and implementing the agenda of RSS. It is also strangling the remaining democracy. He said that the burden of tax is being imposed on the people of the country who are groaning under the burden of inflation, unemployment and hunger. He said that the Modi government is a pro-corporate government and this government has given a big benefit to domestic and foreign corporates through the latest budget. He said that this government has implemented three deadly criminal laws from July 1. Which give heavy powers to the police and reduce the rights of citizens. Avtar Singh Tari, State Deputy Secretary of IFT, Bibi Gurbakhsh Kaur Sangha said that the Punjab government of Aam Aadmi Party led by Bhagwant Mann has also proved to be completely useless. The repression being done on the people demanding rights has broken the illusion of democracy of the government. He said that the Modi government has made a big attack on the rights of workers by making three labor codes. He said that all the aggrieved parties will have to come on one platform to answer the attacks of the ruling party. He said that the true tribute to Baba Bujha Singh would be that we intensify the struggle to create an egalitarian society. On this occasion, Azad Kala Manch Phagwara presented choreography under the direction of Biba Kulwant and invited people to jump into the struggle.
