PGIMER Ensures Continuity of Services Amid Outsourced Workers Strike

With outsourced Hospital Attendants, Sanitary Attendants, and Bearers on strike today, PGIMER activated a comprehensive contingency plan to maintain essential services. Despite the challenges amid the strike, the institute managed the continuity of services, with 7,367 patients examined across various OPDs. OPD registrations and patient consultations continued without disruption, and critical areas like the ICU, Emergency, and Trauma services remained largely unaffected.

The authorities are actively persuading the striking attendants to come to the table for discussions, urging them to return to work in the interest of patient care
In continuation of the ongoing strike, all elective surgeries and elective admissions will be suspended.
Due to the gazetted holiday for Dussehra on 12 October and Sunday on 13 October, the OPDs will remain closed for the next two days.
Hospitals in Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh are advised not to refer patients to PGIMER during this period due to the ongoing situation. The Institute requests the public’s patience and cooperation as it works diligently to minimize the impact of the strike on patient services.
