He said that all should discharge their responsibilities with full seriousness regarding the safety and protection of people from diseases.

Taking a meeting of officials in this regard on Friday, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on better inter-departmental coordination and asked to take necessary precautionary steps to protect the people from diseases. He also directed that the departments should ensure to send a weekly report of their work done in this direction to the Deputy Commissioner's office.
Jatin Lal stressed on public awareness to prevent diseases during the rainy season. He asked ASHA workers, ANMs and Anganwadi workers to spread the message of public awareness to every household. He also urged the people of the district to take necessary precautions to prevent diseases during the rainy season and appealed for active cooperation in making the public campaign of awareness about health and hygiene a success.
Advance awareness campaigns through Gram Sabha meetings
The Deputy Commissioner asked to discuss the issue of protection and prevention from water-borne and bacterial diseases in the next Gram Sabha meeting in all the Panchayats of the district. He directed the Panchayati Raj Department to inform all the Pradhans about this. He also asked to ensure that Anganwadi workers, Asha and ANMs are present in these meetings. Inform people about water-borne diseases like diarrhea, jaundice, typhoid and hepatitis A and E and bacterial diseases like scrub typhus, dengue, malaria. Apart from telling them about precautionary measures and necessary precautions to prevent these diseases, tell them about the symptoms of diseases and their medical treatment. He said that in case of snake bite, villagers should be made aware not to waste time in witchcraft and to take immediate medical treatment.
Manage the garbage properly
Jatin Lal asked to ensure proper management of garbage in Panchayats and urban bodies. Gave instructions to get the drains cleaned so that the danger of flies and mosquitoes breeding and spread of diseases due to stagnant water and dirt can be avoided. He said that fogging and spraying should be done there on time. He asked to educate children and teachers in all schools about the measures to prevent diseases during rainy season as well as proper hand washing. He asked the Jal Shakti Department to increase the cases of sampling of water sources. Apart from this, he gave instructions to ensure proper cleaning of water storage tanks. Asked the Public Works Department to keep the system of water drainage on the sides of the roads in order.
Keep the house and surroundings clean
At the meeting, Chief Medical Officer S.K. Verma said that to prevent diseases during the rainy season, everyone should maintain personal hygiene, drink clean water, and consume clean and fresh food items. As a precaution, keep the house and surroundings clean during the rainy season, do not let grass and bushes grow. Do not let water accumulate. Spray insecticides inside, outside and around the house. Take care of body hygiene. Do not consume contaminated water. While working in the fields, keep your body covered, especially hands, legs and feet.
