FIR Registered Against Azam Khan Alleged Irregularities in Sale of Haj Committee Land

Lucknow, September 11:- A case was registered in Lucknow on Thursday against Azam Khan, one of the founders of the Samajwadi Party. Azam Khan was accused of committing irregularities in the sale of Haj Committee land. The Vigilance Department registered the case after the investigation confirmed a major financial loss. In the case of irregularities in the sale of land belonging to the Uttar Pradesh State Haj Committee, the Vigilance Department registered an FIR against five people, including Samajwadi Party leader and former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Haj Committee, Azam Khan.
The Vigilance investigation confirmed that the committee suffered a financial loss of Rs 2.08 crore due to the sale of the land. It is alleged that rules were ignored in the sale of the land and the position was misused to benefit a private firm. The Vigilance Department alleged that the accused, by misusing their positions, failed to follow the prescribed rules in the sale of the land in order to benefit the private firm.
The Vigilance Department registered a case under relevant sections of the anti-corruption law, including cheating. After the FIR was registered, the investigation of the case was handed over to Inspector Sanjay Kumar Singh.
In this case, apart from the then Haj Committee Chairman Azam Khan, the then Secretary Laiq Ahmed and Dr. MAA Khan have also been named as accused. Along with them, the owners of Aamish Developers, Mohammad Ayub and Mustaqeem Ahmed, have also been named as accused.
