District Vaccination Officer Dr. Seema Garg, sharing information about this, said that under this program, adolescents between the ages of 10 and 19 years are protected from the disease of anemia (lack of blood) under the Weekly Iron and Folic Acid Supplement (WIFS) program by the government. A blue pill of iron folic acid is provided free of charge every week. He said that anemia can be removed by adding carbohydrate, protein, fat rich food along with iron rich food. On this occasion Dr. Mandeep Kaur AMO RBSK gave detailed information regarding adolescent health, anemia and stomach worms. Information was given regarding anemia relief with iron and folic acid tablets once a week and albendazole twice a year under NDD program. AMO RBSK Dr. Vivek Kumar and Ranjana Staff Nurse were present on this occasion.
