In the meeting, Rajnath Singh "stressed the need for a permanent solution to the border demarcation by revitalising the border management and the established mechanism on this issue." Rajnath Singh highlighted the need to resolve the complex issues on the Line of Actual Control. The Minister added, “There needs to be a structured roadmap for sustained engagement and de-escalation.”
The Defence Minister referred to the April 2020 military clash along the LAC in eastern Ladakh and called for addressing the eroded trust that had emerged following it through ground action. The two Ministers acknowledged the work being done by both sides to restore normalcy in bilateral relations.
