Nawanshahr, June 10 - District Police Chief Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Dr. Mehtab Singh IPS, who is an impartial sentinel of peace and tranquility, was today specially felicitated by the members of Mahe Goat Welfare Committee under the leadership of its Executive President Master Telu Ram.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Dr. Mehtab Singh said that to eliminate anti-social elements, the district police is finalizing the campaign against drugs on the instructions of the Honorable DGP Punjab. The police is working day and night to make Punjab drug-free and to stop drug trafficking, as a result of which it is coming to light that drug smugglers are now leaving their hideouts and looking for new hideouts.
He said that he strongly reprimands the drug smugglers and anti-social elements that there is no place for such elements in District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, named after Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Ji, due to which they should spend their nights outside the district.
He appealed to the NGOs, religious organizations and panchayats to wholeheartedly support the police department for this noble cause and inform the police about the people doing such illegal activities around them, whose identity will be kept secret. On this occasion, the committee also felicitated the local SP Iqbal Singh for the good services provided by the police administration.
On this occasion, the committee leader Telu Ram said that the annual fair of his clan was held two days earlier in village Hayatpur Jattan on 28 May with the cooperation of the police administration, in which the duty of the police station in-charge Pojewal SI Satnam Singh in coordinating with the employees was commendable, who provided excellent services in the fair as per the instructions of the district police chief and the annual fair was held peacefully, for which he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to SSP Dr. Mehtab Singh, Reader Unkar Singh, SP Local Iqbal Singh, SP (D) Sarabjit Singh Bahia, SP (PBI) Tarun Ratan and all the officers and employees.
He said that he will also contribute in this campaign of the police. On this occasion, leaders including Rajinder Rana, Gurbaksh Singh, Gurmel Singh, Seetal Das, Inderjit Singh, Dr. Balveer Singh, Jeet Ram and some other leaders were also present.
