SAS Nagar, May 28- A meeting of Punjab Safai Mazdoor Federation was held today at Municipal Bhawan, Sector 68 in presence of Mohali President Rajan Chawria.
During the meeting, the problem of garbage management in Balongi village was discussed. State General Secretary of the organization Pawan Godiyal said that after discussions with colleagues Binder Singh, Amar Singh and Madan Lal of Balongi, it was decided that difficulties are being faced in garbage disposal and management in Balongi Gram Panchayat.
The leaders said that where garbage was temporarily dumped, the present Panchayat has banned garbage dumping, due to which the garbage collectors collecting garbage from door to door in Balongi are also facing a lot of difficulties. For the last three days, garbage is not being lifted from the houses of common people living in Balongi, due to which the villagers are facing problems.
The leaders further said that two days ago, Punjab Safai Mazdoor Federation had issued a notice to BDPO demanding to provide space or dumping point for dumping garbage in Balongi, but no solution was found. To protest against this, garbage dumping demonstration will be held in front of BDPO office located in Jujhar Nagar tomorrow (May 29).
Apart from others, Brij Mohan, Sachin Kumar, Raju Sangeliya, Roshan Lal and Rajinder Bagdi were also present in the meeting.
