Payal, May 31 – A huge uproar was created by students at BJP leader Baljinder Singla’s Swami Vivekananda Nursing College Faizgarh in Khanna today. The students made serious allegations against the college administrators of asking for money to get their exams done and failing those who did not pay. Expressing this protest, the students staged a protest in front of Faizgarh Nursing College on Khanna-Malerkotla road and demanded refund of certificates and fees.
Tanpreet Kaur, a second-year GNM student, alleged that Rs 4,000 per student was asked from the students in the college. According to her, she was told that this money was for getting her exams done. The student alleged, “Those who paid money were given higher marks in their assessment, while those who could not pay money were failed.” Another student, Manpreet Kaur, alleged that the college’s MD Baljinder Singla, who is a BJP leader, often threatens the students by telling them about his status.
The students said that this is a direct attack on the right to education and they will fight hard to protect their rights. This entire matter has created a stir at the local level and now it is awaited to see what action is being taken by the Punjab Nursing Council and the administration. The students have warned that if their demands are not met, the agitation will be intensified.
