Colombia withdraws condolence message for those killed in Pakistan.

New Delhi, May 31 - BJP MP Tejashwi Surya, who is part of the Indian delegation on Operation Sindhur outreach in Colombia, said that after the panel visit, Colombia has withdrawn its earlier condolence message for those killed in Pakistan following the Indian Army's retaliation on May 7.

He said, “We met with Colombian Deputy Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio and briefed her on the sequence of events from the Pahalgam terrorist attack to India’s calibrated response under Operation Sindhur.” It is worth mentioning here that Colombia had earlier expressed sympathy for the loss of lives in Pakistan following India’s response.
“Furthering our discussion, the Colombian government, understanding that no civilian lives were lost in India’s response but hardcore terrorists were killed, has withdrawn its message. We have made it clear that they killed tourists, but on the other hand we eliminated terrorists. There is no equivalence between the two.”
Surya said that Colombia fully supported India’s fight against terrorism and expressed full sympathy with the situation.
“This is an important diplomatic achievement for our delegation,” he said. Earlier in Bogota Tharoor expressed disappointment over Colombia's condolences for the loss of life in Pakistan following India's retaliation in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians.
Tharoor, leading a multi-party delegation to Colombia, had said, "We are somewhat disappointed with the response of the Colombian government, which, rather than clearly sympathizing with the victims of terrorism, has expressed heartfelt condolences for the loss of life in Pakistan following the Indian attacks."
He suggested that there could be no equality between those who send terrorists and those who oppose terrorists.
