Una, May 27- An awareness camp was organized on Child Marriage Free India Campaign under Mission Shakti Yojana in Circle-Bhanjal under Gagret Block on Tuesday. During this, District Program Officer Una Narendra Kumar gave information related to Child Marriage Free India Campaign to the Circle Supervisor and Anganwadi workers present in the camp.
He said that child marriage is a serious social evil which hinders the education, health, safety and overall development of girls. Child marriage prevents girls from realizing their dreams and affects their bright future. He said that according to the National Family Health Survey-5 (2019-21), 23.3 percent of women in the age group of 20 to 24 years in India were married before the age of 18, which is a matter of concern. District Program Officer Narendra Kumar said that the main objective of Mission Shakti Yojana is to reduce the rate of child marriage from 23.3 percent to 10 percent by the year 2025 and to make India child marriage free by the year 2030 and to empower community institutions and levels to end child marriage, develop the capacities of law enforcement and child protection agencies for prompt action on complaints related to child marriage, ensure proper arrangements for education, rehabilitation and protection for child marriage victims and empower women as leaders to enable them to raise their voice against child marriage in their villages.
District Coordinator DHE Isha Chaudhary gave information about the schemes being run by the Government of India under Mission Shakti. Mission Shakti is divided into two parts - Shakti and Sambal. Shakti has Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Palna, Shakti Sadan, Working Women and Sambal Yojana to empower women and to provide security to women, there is Ban Stop Center, Women Helpline (181), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Nari Adalat. Isha Chaudhary appealed to the circle supervisor and Anganwadi workers present to download the Mission Shakti app. Information about all the schemes of the government can be obtained through this app.
