
Three colleges to be named after martyrs and freedom fighters of the Azad Hind Fauj.
Chandigarh, July 15 - The state government has decided to name the colleges of the state in honour of martyrs and freedom fighters of the Azad Hind Fauj. Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini today gave administrative approval to the naming of three colleges. Haryana Education Minister Mr. Mahipal Dhanda said that the state government has decided that Government Women's College Bawani Khera will be named after the late Thakur Shri Shambhu Singh, a freedom fighter of the Azad Hind Fauj.

Haryana Education Minister Mr. Mahipal Dhanda said that the state government has decided that Government Women's College Bawani Khera will be named after the late Thakur Shri Shambhu Singh, a freedom fighter of the Azad Hind Fauj.
Similarly, Government College Khark (Bhiwani) will be named after Shaheed Gajendra Singh. It is worth mentioning that on March 7, 2018, Shri Gajendra Singh, Assistant Commandant, 134 Battalion Border Security Force, Kaker district (Chhattisgarh) had attained martyrdom while fighting with Naxalites near Maspur village in Natla reserved forest area. He was awarded the Bravery Medal on January 26, 2021 for his bravery.
Apart from this, the Haryana Government has given administrative approval to name Government College Sampla (Rohtak) after Shaheed Rai Singh. Shaheed Rai Singh had lost his life while protecting the country on November 20, 2016 in Jammu (Rajouri) on the Indo-Pakistan Line of Control. The Education Minister said that this step of the Haryana Government is to give special honour to the martyrs and freedom fighters.
