Chandigarh, May 1 - Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini today said on the issue of surplus water that his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann should rise above politics and work for the interests of humanity. He said that divisions are being created between Punjab and Haryana by the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that we should take inspiration from Bhai Ghanaiya. He said that whenever Punjab is thirsty, Haryana will provide water.
Saini said that between the months of April to June, Haryana has always been getting up to 9000 cusecs of water and never in history has water been stopped. He said that Haryana has taken this water for the people to drink. Saini said that Punjab is the elder brother of Haryana and as a matter of humanity, this matter should be looked into and no politics should be done on it.
Saini said that the real thing is that the defeat of Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi is not being tolerated and now Arvind Kejriwal is creating this chaos through Punjab. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should act on his own discretion instead of following anyone. He said that the Punjab government should refrain from making divisions. Saini said that out of the 9000 cusecs of water that Haryana has been getting, 500 cusecs of water goes to Delhi and 800 cusecs of water goes to Rajasthan, while out of this, 400 cusecs is getting to Punjab. Naib Singh Saini said that instead of doing politics on this issue, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should talk about the development of Punjab.
