Senior Vets demand Finance Department to clear bills

S.A.S. Nagar, June 26- Punjab Senior Vets Association has appealed to the State Finance Minister and Chief Minister to direct immediate clearance of leave encashment and medical bills of retired officers and employees which are gathering dust in the respective treasuries of the State.

On the occasion, former Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Gau Sewa Aayog Dr. Nitin Kumar Gupta and former Joint Director Animal Husbandry Punjab Dr. Gurinder Singh Walia regretted that the medical and leave encashment bills are not being cleared by the treasuries as the Finance Department has issued verbal directions not to clear these bills citing poor financial condition as an excuse.
They said that the bills of senior citizens who are in the last stage of their lives should be cleared at the earliest as their needs are critical in view of their ailments. Present on the occasion among others were Dr. Desh Deepak Goyal, Dr. Shashi Saini, Dr. Madan Mohan Singla, Dr. Paramjit Saini, Dr. Jagjit Singh and Dr. Gautam Prasad.
