Garhshankar, March 20 - On the call of the United Kisan Morcha to burn effigies of Punjab government against the repression being carried out by the Bhagwant Mann government with the support of the government, setting up tents of agitating farmers on Shambhu and Khanauri border and snatching their belongings late at night, the Garhshankar unit of Kirti Kisan Union expressed its anger by burning effigies of Punjab government in villages Alipur and Sikandarpur.
At this time, while addressing the farmers, State Vice President of Kirti Kisan Union Harmesh Dhesi, Kulwinder Chahal and Professor Kulwant Singh Golewal said that the Bhagwant Mann government, at the behest of corporate houses and the central government, instead of accepting the demands of the farmers, wants to suppress the struggle with the force of police, which the farmers of Punjab will not tolerate under any circumstances.
He said that during the last farmers' struggle, all the ministers and MLAs of the present government including the Chief Minister came to the forefront of the farmers and promised to fulfill all the demands of the farmers and give MSP on crops as soon as the government is formed. But after sitting in power for three years, instead of fulfilling any demand of the farmers, the police wants to suppress the farmers' struggle by force, which the brave farmers of Punjab will not tolerate at any cost.
The Punjab government will have to pay a political price for this highhandedness. At this time, various farmer leaders Paramjit Singh Pamma, Harjinder Singh, Santokh Singh, Sandeep Singh, Amrik Singh, Nirmal Singh Amarjit Singh, Santokh Singh Gurmeet Singh Roorkee Khas and employee leaders Mukesh Kumar Satpal Kaler and Hansraj Gadhshankar were also present.
