One day training program organized for screening and treatment of TB in children

March 4 Hoshiarpur- As per the directions of Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar, a training program was organized for screening and treatment of children's TB under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in collaboration with World Health Partners (WHP) under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Dr. Manpreet Singh Bains at CHC Harta Badla in which LHV ANM, MPHW (Male) and CHO participated.

President on the occasion, Pediatrician Dr. Kulwant Rai said that TB is one of the most important public health challenges. It is a big challenge especially for children as it is often not detected or detected very late. He said that the aim of this training program is to enhance the knowledge and skills of health professionals in the diagnosis, treatment and management of pediatric TB in children aged 0-14 years.
The participants who attended the training programme were briefed on how to perform gastric aspirate (GA), gastric lavage (GL) and inspiratory sputum (IS) procedures in children aged 0-14 years as per the pediatric TB guidelines. Speaking on the occasion, Senior Medical Officer Dr Manpreet Singh Bains while referring to the ongoing “100 Din TB Roko Abhiyan” in the district said that more and more people should be screened and suspected patients should be motivated to get tested.
He said that if anyone is suffering from TB disease, he need not panic as TB is no longer incurable and its treatment is done free of cost in government hospitals. He said that under this campaign, tests and X-rays of suspected patients are being done free of cost by the Health Department.
