In this campaign being started as per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, the hawkers and vendors illegally installed on the footpaths will be removed and confiscated, while challans will be issued for vehicles parked here and there and unauthorizedly.
The Deputy Commissioner said that during the continuous complaints and inspection, it has come to light that due to encroachment on the footpaths, common citizens, especially children and the elderly, have to walk on the road, which puts their safety in danger. In such a situation, in the larger public interest, 'Mission Free-Footpath' is the need of the hour, so that the city can be made organized, safe and accessible for pedestrians.
At the same time, Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav said that the police department, along with the district administration and the Municipal Corporation, will effectively implement this campaign.
