Una, 7 February- Giving information about the 100-day special campaign related to tuberculosis from 7 December 2024 by the Health and Family Welfare Department, District Una, as directed by the State Government, District Chief Medical Officer Dr Sanjeev Kumar Verma said that Dr Anisha Singh, Director, ACSM, NTSU inspected this special campaign related to tuberculosis going on in Una district.
Una, 7 February- Giving information about the 100-day special campaign related to tuberculosis from 7 December 2024 by the Health and Family Welfare Department, District Una, as directed by the State Government, District Chief Medical Officer Dr Sanjeev Kumar Verma said that Dr Anisha Singh, Director, ACSM, NTSU inspected this special campaign related to tuberculosis going on in Una district.
In which she especially got information about the awareness campaign going on in the district and also participated in the Nikshay Shivirs going on at various places and along with getting information related to tuberculosis from the villagers present there, she also collected information related to the participation of other departments.
Giving information on this occasion, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Verma said that under this special campaign, special information related to tuberculosis of people of high risk group is being taken through Asha workers and sputum test and X-ray of potential people are also being done at various places so that tuberculosis can be detected in time and treatment of patients can be ensured as soon as possible.
He also called upon all the departments of the district to take oath for freedom from tuberculosis under the public participation campaign, become Nikshay Mitra and give nutrition kits to tuberculosis patients and organize awareness camps related to tuberculosis in their departments so that awareness about tuberculosis can be increased in the society and the general public can be motivated to make this campaign successful.
Under this campaign, so far in Una district, about 7500 people have been examined about tuberculosis symptoms by going to their homes and 3500 sputum samples have also been collected and so far 70 patients have been registered, whose treatment has also been started. He said that tuberculosis is an infectious disease. Which is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. Tuberculosis may be an infectious disease but its treatment is completely possible. If this disease is treated on time then the patient can be cured completely.
Tuberculosis usually occurs in the lungs but it can affect any part of the body. Any person can easily identify the symptoms of tuberculosis. The symptoms of tuberculosis are cough for more than two weeks, phlegm or blood with phlegm, fever, loss of appetite, weight loss, poor health, chest pain, sweating at night, etc. Examination and treatment of tuberculosis patients is available completely free of cost in government institutions. On this occasion, Health Inspector Dr. Sanjay Mankotia, State ACSM Coordinator Sunil Savita, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Vishal Thakur, District Program Coordinator Rakesh Thakur, Senior Tuberculosis Inspector Sandeep Dheer, TVHIV Program Coordinator Gulshan Kumar, District Health Teacher Gopal Krishna were also present.
