Mahilpur: The annual awards of Nikkian Karumbalan, a popular children's magazine listed in the India Book of Records and published by Sur Sangam Educational Trust (Regd.) Mahilpur, District Hoshiarpur, were announced here today. Presiding over a special meeting of Sur Sangam Educational Trust, international writer and journalist S Ashok Bhaura said that till date, 25 adult writers and 25 children's writers have been honored by the trust on the occasion of its Silver Jubilee (2019). In the annual function of Nikkian Karumbalan, the writers associated with the magazine Hardev Singh Bhullar Ferozepur, Amarpreet Singh Jhita Jalandhar, Mandeep Rimpi Ropar, Uma Kamal Talwara and Anju V Ratti Hoshiarpur will be given the Mata Bhajan Kaur Nikkian Karumbalan Awards. These writers are continuously creating literature by associating with Nikkian Karumbalan children's magazine. The students who won the literary writing competitions will be awarded the Giani Harkeval Singh Salani Scholarship.
Trust President Baljinder Mann said that despite many financial difficulties, they are striving with the support of the Karumbalan family to achieve the goal of maintaining their new nursery. On this occasion, Harbhajan Singh Kahlon, Tarlochan Pathlawa, Chanchal Singh Bains, Bagga Singh Artist, Sukhman Singh, Manjinder Heer, Pawan Skruli, Harmanpreet Kaur, Harveer Mann and Principal Manjit Kaur were present. Thanking everyone, Kuldeep Kaur Bains said that we should contribute to such efforts to embellish the lives of children.
