S.A.S. Nagar November 27, 2024: Additional Deputy Commissioner (g) Viraj S. Tidke (Additional Charge Urban Development) reviewed the ongoing development works in urban areas of the district with officers of various departments. He directed the officers to complete the ongoing development works in urban areas at various places of the district at the earliest.
 During the review meeting at the District Administrative Complex, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the process of setting up Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) at different places in the district is ongoing and all the work required to prepare these projects at the ground level is being completed continuously. With the completion of the scheduled projects, not only will there be proper management of sewage water but the treated (refined) water will be used for irrigation and other works like construction etc. at different places.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the works being done by the Municipal Corporation Mohali under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). He asked the Municipal Corporation officials to speed up the process of purchasing Waste Wonder Park, Mechanized Vehicles and Rickshaw Rehris. Apart from this, he asked to speed up the work of making e-cards of beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana in the district so that the beneficiaries can get the desired benefits.
Apart from this, stressing on paying special attention to cleanliness in urban areas, Mr. Tidke said that Resident Welfare Associations can play an important role in this work. Along with this, he also gave guidelines regarding bulk waste generators along with reviewing the solid waste management projects.
He instructed the officers of the Local Government Department to make people more aware about the various campaigns of the Local Government Department including cleanliness.
Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the projects under the Punjab Urban Environment Improvement Plan to resolve the pending works in a timely manner and asked them to complete the projects in a timely manner and also gave instructions to start the allotted works. 
During the meeting, he asked to expedite the work of making e-cards of the beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana in the district so that the beneficiaries can get the desired benefits from it. 
Apart from this, while reviewing the various welfare schemes/projects run by the government, he also gave instructions to the concerned departments to provide the utilization certificates soon.
On this occasion, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Dipankar Garg, SDM Derabassi Amit Gupta, SDM Kharar Gurmander Singh, Tehsildar Arjan Singh Grewal along with all the executive officers of the district and officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
