Desh Bhagat University organized a national webinar on World Environment Day

Mandi Gobindgarh, June 6 – Faculty of Agrim Club of Agriculture and Life Sciences in collaboration with IQAC, Desh Bhagat University organized a National Webinar on World Environment Day under the slogan “Our Land Our Future”. The program was inaugurated by Dr HK Sidhu, Dean Agriculture and Life Sciences and IQAC Coordinator.

Mandi Gobindgarh, June 6 – Faculty of Agrim Club of Agriculture and Life Sciences in collaboration with IQAC, Desh Bhagat University organized a National Webinar on World Environment Day under the slogan “Our Land Our Future”. The program was inaugurated by Dr HK Sidhu, Dean Agriculture and Life Sciences and IQAC Coordinator. He said that it is the need of the hour to focus more on global climate change and support for environmental restoration. Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur appreciated these efforts and said that students should work for conservation of natural resources. Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Abhijit Joshi appreciated the efforts of the department. He said that the increase in temperature is due to human intervention in nature It is not only affecting the soil, climate, but also the health of humans as well as flora and fauna. So we need to set targets for land restoration and climate change mitigation. Dr. Irfan Ahmed, resource person from Shere-Kashmir University, Srinagar gave a detailed presentation on bioplastics. He made aware about the different types of plastic and the adverse effects of plastic waste on both the environment and human health. The second resource person Dr. Deeksha Rana from Amity University, Mohali focused on Restore, Revive and Reduce.
He said that we cannot bring back the past but we can plant more saplings and contribute to development. After this a sapling drive was started by Dr. Surjit Patheja, Dr. HK Sidhu and other faculty members.
