5 Lakh for Every Voter if Midterm Elections Are Won Trump

Washington, September 11:- US President Donald Trump has said that if the Republican Party retains its majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate in November’s midterm elections, every adult American will be given $5,000 (approximately ?4.76 lakh).
Trump made the statement while addressing a Republican convention in Dallas. He called it the ‘Trump Dividend’ and said it would be given because of America’s ‘economic strength and success’.
Trump also said that the dividend amount would have to be spent within the United States. However, he did not explain where the money would come from, what the scope of the payment would be, or how the amount would be distributed. There are approximately 26.98 crore adults in the United States. If all of them were given $5,000, the total cost would be approximately $1.35 trillion, equivalent to ?128.25 lakh crore. This amount is higher than the economies of around 162 countries in the world.
According to World Bank data for 2025, only 19 countries have a GDP higher than this amount. It is even around 3.3 times larger than Pakistan’s entire economy. Pakistan’s GDP is approximately $407.3 billion, equivalent to ?38.69 lakh crore.

Spending Equivalent to 4% of US GDP
The US economy was worth approximately $30.8 trillion in 2025. A plan to give $5,000 to every adult American would cost approximately $1.3 trillion. Implementing it would require approval from Congress.
This amount is equivalent to approximately 4.2% of the US GDP in 2025. Meanwhile, the United States has an annual budget deficit of approximately $1.8 trillion. This means the plan could put additional pressure on government spending and the deficit. The US national debt has already crossed $40 trillion. In such a situation, distributing such a huge amount could increase concerns over government debt and inflation.
